Amish Double Four Patch Antique Quilt, handmade quilt, hand quilted; vintage quilt, circa 1890s

This beautiful Amish Double Four Patch Quilt is circa 1890s and comes from a Maryland collector. The quilting is hand-stitched and is in a pattern of double-diagonal rows along the borders, in a diamond pattern in the large middle blocks, and otherwise runs straight through the middle of the various squares in the four-patches. The piecework is very precise.

The binding is a royal blue while the back is grey and the cotton batting is very lightweight. The quilt is in excellent condition, with no flaws noted.

It is clean, very soft and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 74 inches by 88 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
