This Criss Cross or Pennsylvania Quilt is circa 1890-1900 and has been hand quilted in feather wreaths, double diagonals and diamonds. The orchid/purple and white border goes around all four sides of the quilt.
The back is a white cotton that has been turned to the front and machine stitched to form the very narrow binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent condition with two areas of fading of the orchid/purple fabric on the front. See photos.
This lovely quilt is clean and soft and measures 72 inches by 82 inches. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed.
