The green leaves of this English Rose Quilt have turned to a light tan over the last 100+ years (see close-up photos) but the rest of the quilt remains a work of art with applique work done in incredibly small stitches and hand-quilting that is even, tiny and precise. The quilting is primarily in diamonds, with geometric patterns along the four-sided white border.
The back is white cotton and the red cotton binding has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent antique condition with age-related fading of the fabrics, including the fading of the originally green leaves to a light tan.
The quilt measures 72 inches by 77 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictured on a queen-size bed.
