Sampler quilts like this one showcase a quilter's piecing, applique and quilting skills and this one is a great example. Sometimes quilters save squares from other quilts they've made while other times they start from scratch. There's no way to tell with this quilt, but there are 25 squares with 25 different patterns and quilting that also changes with each square and around the border, running the gamut from swirls, to elegant arcs, to outlines and straight lines, to stars, hearts, diamonds and flowers. There is a lot going on and it is beautifully pieced and appliqued.

It has been bound with a thin piece of the blue printed border material and the back is a white muslin. It is in excellent condition with the only issues being color transfer from one of the dark blue fabrics (see photos) and a small discoloration on the back that cannot be seen on the front. The batting is cotton and light.

This lovely quilt is clean and soft and measures 74 inches by 87 inches. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shown on a queen bed.
