Lone Star or Star of Bethlehem Antique Quilt, circa 1870s-1890s, handmade quilt, hand quilted; antique quilt; vintage quilt cottagecore

This is a wonderful circa 1870s-1890s Star of Bethlehem or Lone Star Quilt. This very large, heavily quilted Lone Star quilt radiates from reds and pinks to blues to oranges, yellows and greens, and back again. Quilting is in hearts and diamonds and concentric circles as well as in outlines of the extensive patchwork.

The back is white cotton which has been turned to the front to make the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent, vintage condition, with some discolorations on the back that do not show on the front and some beginning fabric deterioration in a few of the diamond patches as shown in the photos.

It is clean, very soft and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 91 inches by 92 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
