This Sailboat or "The Ship" Quilt is circa 1930s-1940s and has been hand-quilted throughout in tiny, even stitches (see photos). The quilting is in a unique geometric pattern in the white spaces and along the border and in outlines of the patchwork through the rest of the body of the quilt. "Sails" have also been quilted into every boat.
The back is a soft yellow cotton that has been turned to the front and hand stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent, unused condition - the pencil lines for the quilting are still visible.
It is approximately 67 inches by 84 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictured on a queen-size bed.
