This is a Rare Mid-Century Modern version of a Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt. It is circa 1950s and has been hand-stitched and hand-quilted in dark polyester fabrics. It is made up of more than 2,000 hexagons that have been quilted in outlines of each hexagon. The quilter has used "half-gardens" to square off all four sides.
The back is black polyester that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent condition with no condition issues noted.
It is approximately 66 inches by 78 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictured on a queen-size bed.
