This circa 1920s Lone Star Quilt is spectacular. Not only has it been expertly pieced and put together with colors that radiate from the center (as the best Lone Star quilts do), but its quilting is wonderfully intricate and one-of-a-kind in its execution.
Photos may not do the quilting justice-- it is all hand-stitched and includes birds with the feathers of their plumage quilted to the last detail, along with intricate flowers and swirls. It is an amazing demonstration of this quilter's tremendous talent.
Three sides of the quilt have a white cotton border that has been similarly densely quilted. The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front to make the narrow binding.
The quilt is in excellent condition with a slight discoloration (half the size of a dime) on the back side of the binding and a larger light discoloration on the white cotton backing that does not show or go through to the front.
It is clean, very soft and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 72 inches by 74 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
