This is a Princess Feather Quilt with center medallion, circa 1900-1910. Princess Feather quilts of the 19th Century were often in reds and greens, but pastel colors like those used in this quilt became more popular after the turn of the century.
The applique is hand-stitched, as is all of the quilting which has been done in a petal-pattern throughout the body of the quilt which gives the quilting the overall look of cathedral windows. The back is an off-white muslin, while the binding is a bright green. The cotton batting is lightweight and appears through the translucent muslin back to have shifted slightly in some areas.
The quilt is in excellent condition. Happy to send additional photos upon request.
It is approximately 74 inches by 74 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictured on a queen-size bed.
