Antique Broken Dishes Quilt: Hand-Stitched Sunburst Quilting, Circa 1880s (62x81")

This is a Broken Dishes Quilt, circa 1880s, with spectacular sunburst hand-quilting in tiny stitches. The quilting also outlines of all of the patchwork. There is a 5-inch white border around all four sides that has been quilted with half-sunbursts.

The back is a white muslin while the binding is bright red cotton that has been machine-stitched to the back and hand-stitched to the front. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent condition with some age-related fading of the red fabrics.

The quilt measures 62 inches by 81 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed.
