This Grandma's Square Quilt is circa 1870s-1890s and comes from Kentucky. The colors remain vibrant and the prints are an eclectic mix of plaids, checks and florals. It is entirely hand-quilted in diamonds that can be seen more easily from the back.
The back is a grey, gauzy muslin, while the binding is a blue patterned cotton that has been machine-stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back with black thread.
This lovely quilt is in excellent condition, with the only condition issues involving the back of the quilt, which has uneven fading and several older repairs, none of which can be seen on the front or that effect the front.
The quilt measures 66 inches by 76 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed.
