This lovely Double Irish Chain Quilt is circa 1870s-1890s and has been intricately and impressively hand-quilted in tiny diamonds, very narrow lines, double diagonals and concentric triangles. See photos.
The back is white cotton, while the binding is a hazel print on two sides of the quilt and the same chocolate print as the four-sided border on the other two sides. In both cases, the binding has been hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent condition with some old red color transfer from the color print.
This lovely old quilt is clean and soft and measures 60 inches by 72 inches. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed.
