Eagle and Stars Antique Quilt, circa 1900-1910, vintage quilt; patriotic quilt; fourth of july quilt; eagle quilt; cottagecore

This is an historic Eagle Quilt, made sometime between 1900 and 1910 with two hand-appliqued eagles and eight 8-point stars. It comes from a Maryland collector. Each eagle and star has been hand-quilted and hand-embroidered, while the rest of the quilt is hand-quilted in a checkerboard pattern.

The back is a bright blue where the white thread used for the quilting is especially easy to see (see photos). The fabric from the back has been turned to the front to make a bright blue binding that has been hand-stitched to the front. The cotton batting is lightweight.

It is in excellent condition, with small repair to the front that blends well with the rest of the quilt.

The quilt measures 66 inches by 82 inches. From a smoke-free and pet-free home. Shown on a queen bed.
