Antique Honeycomb Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt: Hand-Stitched Vintage Quilt (64x70 inches)

This is a teal version of a Honeycomb Pattern of a Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt. It is made up of more than 3,000 1.5-inch hexagons that have been configured in a honeycomb pattern where there is a central flower garden with the other flower gardens rotating around it. It is circa 1920s-1930s and has been entirely hand-stitched and hand-quilted.

The hand-quilting is in outlines of the hexagons in very tiny stitches. The quilter has used "half-gardens" to square off all four sides of the quilt. The back is a beautiful teal as is the binding which has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent condition with some overall age-related fading of the fabrics and some beginning signs of fraying of the binding.

It is clean and soft, comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home and measures 64 inches by 70 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
