Jacob's Ladder variation Antique Quilt; Circa 1940-1950; vintage quilt; handmade quilt; patchwork quilt

This colorful quilt is a variation of the Jacob's Ladder pattern and is from the 1940s or 1950s. It was hand-quilted either by a first-time quilter or by someone whose hand was slightly shaky as can be seen because the stitches are sometimes uneven - not that this takes away from the beauty or utility of the quilt. In fact, hand-quilting is so difficult and time-consuming, the quilter deserves kudos for their extreme effort in the age of sewing machines.

The quilt has a light-to-medium batting and a cream-colored back. There is one, small stain on one of the blocks, but otherwise the quilt is in excellent condition.

This beautiful quilt is clean and soft and measures 75 inches by 87 inches. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Shown on a queen bed.
