Antique Cherry Basket Quilt with Feather Quilting; 1900-1910s, 78"x86"

This Cherry Basket Quilt, circa 1900-1910s, has been beautifully pieced and hand-appliqued in tiny stitches. The hand-quilting has also been done in tiny stitches and in patterns of feather wreaths, double diagonals, hearts, diamonds and unique geometric shapes. There is a yellow and blue border that spans all four sides.

The back is white cotton, while the binding is blue cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent antique condition with some beginning fabric loss in some of the yellow triangles.

It is approximately 78 inches by 86 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictured on a queen-size bed.
