This is a one-of-a-kind Star-of-the-Magi Quilt, circa 1910-1920s, with intricate quilting and a serpentine floral border. Using a beautiful mix of pink and green florals, the quilt has been precisely pieced together and hand-quilted in outlines of the complicated patchwork and in concentric circles in the white areas. The area between the floral serpentine border and the binding has been stipple-quilted.
The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent condition with a tiny blue dot of what appears to be blue ink in one white area. See photos.
The quilt is long and narrow, measuring approximately 62 inches by 101 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictured on a queen-size bed.
