The pattern for this lovely Grandmother's Fan quilt was first published in 1931 by, appropriately enough, Grandmother Clark, in her booklets on hand-sewing and crocheting.

The quilting is done by hand in tiny stitches and in straight lines, small arcs and in outlines of the fans.

The fans on this quilt use dozens of different feedsack fabrics, with a border on two sides and all cross pieces made of a delightful flower and polka dot yellow print. The other two borders are made of white cotton. The binding is very thin and is white muslin, as is the backing. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent condition with several light discolorations - less than the size of a dime -- on one section of the white border near a corner.

It is clean, very soft and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It measures 70 inches by 92 inches. Shown on a queen-size bed.
