Antique Poinsettia Quilt: Hand-Stitched Flower Applique, 1870s (90x92")

This Poinsettia Quilt with Flower Swag Border is circa 1870s-1890s with superb hand-quilting in the form of feather motifs, wreaths, diamonds and concentric square stippling. The flower applique has been hand-stitched, also in incredibly small stitching.

The back is white cotton, while the binding is a very narrow red cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides.

This lovely quilt is in excellent condition, with the only condition issue being age-related fading of the fabrics and fraying of the binding.

The quilt measures 90 inches by 92 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed.
