This Double Pyramids Quilt is circa 1880s-1890s and was made by a member of the Miller family in Sarahsville, Noble County, Ohio. The quilt comes from an Ohio collector.

The quilting is very dense, so dense that it forms furrows on the quilt, making unique and complex designs throughout the quilt. There are double and triple diagonals, feather stitching and diamond medallions in the middle of each white block. Very tiny stitches also attach the applique border.

The back is a bright white cotton, while the binding is the same blue print as the that used on the front of the quilt. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent, antique condition with fraying of the binding and uneven fading of one section of the blue blocks on the bottom right of the quilt, with some deterioration of the blue fabric in one section of the faded area.

It is approximately 83 inches by 85 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictured on a queen-size bed. Display sleeve is sewn to back.
