  • Details
This is a Tree of Life Variation Quilt with a Double Leaf (with stuffed berries) border around all four sides. It was made by a woman named Nannie Rankin (1899-1985) of Danville (Boyle County) Kentucky in the 1940s. Nannie Rankin was a renowned quilter in Kentucky and one of her quilts (also a Tree of Life quilt) remains on display at the Boyle County Historical Society in Kentucky.

This quilt is almost entirely hand-stitched, hand-appliqued and hand-quilted and is a unique take on a century-old design. It has birds, flowers and stuffed berries in the trees and embroidery simulating branches and grass at the base of every tree.

The quilting is also exquisite and is in shell patterns, feather wreaths and diamonds. The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and machine stitched.

It is in excellent, unused condition.

It is approximately 92 inches by 94 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Pictured on a queen-size bed.
