Antique White House Steps Quilt; 1910-1920s; 68 by 78 inches

This is a lovely White House Steps Quilt, circa 1910-1920s, with striking red sashing and all over hand-quilting. The quilting is in outlines of the patchwork and in straight lines through the sashing.

The back is a floral cotton flannel that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent antique condition, with some age-related yellowing of the fabrics.

The quilt measures 68 inches by 78 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. Shown on a queen-size bed.
