This eclectic Crazy Quilt has more than a dozen embroidered names and initials and dozens of different variations of embroidery stitches. It is dated 1939 and in one patch says "Be Nice." It is made up of 20 feedsack blocks that have been stitched together to form the "crazy." There is no binding or backing.
The fabrics are wools, rayons, satins , velvets, cottons, some flannels and even a few chintz patches. There are no silks and therefore no shattered silks.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition - needs backing and some binding. There is one small tear (about 1/2 inch) in one of the cottons.
The quilt measures 72 inches by 88 inches and comes from a smoke-free and pet-free home. It is shown on a queen-size bed.
